Microbeads Manicure (finally Yay)!

Hi everyone, another post tonight because I did this tonight. Actually my friend's manicure I did it last night. So here is tonight's manicure on my own hands because I had wanted to experiment with microbeads nails or "caviar nails" for the longest time! I just never got around to it. This is a good thing to do for the final post of January because it is so intriguing to look at. It reminds of tadpole eggs for some reason or some kinda fish eggs. That must be why it's called "Caviar Nails." Lol duh!

I pretty much painted OPI Let Me Entertain You (from a past collection called Burlesque) and Love and Beauty purple nail polish. I think the two colours go really well together because they're in the same family and have red in common. They're also really sparkly and cute.  Then I added a microbeads which are extremely extremely tiny beads. Probably the most tiny beads I have ever witnessed. I show you picture below :)

As you can see, a part of the wheel have mixed up beads, which I really don't like because it kind of defeats the purpose of the wheel container it comes with. I used the beads second from the right and sixth from the right.

I know from some of the pictures below that my beads didn't quite distribute over the whole entire nail on my ring finger and that one has some fading. That is because I've actually never done it before, the next time I do this technique I have to remember to go on easy on top coat and to make sure that the edges are covered with beads. Another issue I got was the blue/purple beads showed more blue than I was expecting which is not that big of a problem but it kind of clashed with the pink/purple already on the nails.
As always, thanks for reading

Valentines Day's Manicure

Hi everyone, I did a little manicure for a friend of mine since she was travelling and I had some free time. We actually had no idea what we were doing beforehand so this design was decided on the spot. It's basically just a couple of hearts done with a dotting tool. What I did was I painted Nfu Oh #064 as a base or bankground colour and Sally Hansen Tickled Pink, Cheeky Monkey Man Eater and OPI Chop-Sticking to My Story for the hearts. I had to add a top coat only because I wanted the manicure to last longer though it didn't really seem to work because after only a day, it already chipped. That's disappointing but I guess it is expected with holographic/prismatic polish. Hope you enjoy looking -Kitty

OPI Ski Teal We Drop Swatch

Hi everyone, I'm just posting a quick swatch of a gift from a really good friend.  It's a dark teal colour I think apart of old Swiss collection by OPI. It might have come out over a year ago.

Ski Teal We Drop is a sophiticated colour that I think might appeal to alot of people. To me I like how it's not too dark to look black but it's obvious it's a blue shade, I think it also has a green undertone due to the teal. I also realy like how it's opaque in two coats and OPI actually has the best brushes to me. It's not too fine or too large. It's kind of wide but that's good because it allows for more coverage and less strokes.

Enjoy the swatches :)

China Glaze For Audrey Leopard Print Design

Hi everyone, just a quick update on my current manicure. I used my dotting tool for the first time and a black polish. I couldn't believe how easy it was to do leopard print because before I used to use like a pen device and it would always hurt my hand. This time with a dotting tool it was so easy. I guess because I didn't have to be constantly squeezing. The tool I used was called a two-way nail art pen.

Born Pretty Store CH Nail Polish 04 Luminous Polish

Hi everyone, I got my Born Pretty order in the mail today. It pretty much took a whole month to get here because I ordered it on January 3rd and it didn't arrive until January 29th. So I ordered a bunch of nail art stuff and I got 2 glow in the dark polishes. I got  CH Nail Polish 02 and CH Nail Polish 04. They both are kinda flourescent looking in the bottle like 04 shown below.

I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to do with it. I think it is supposed to be used on a white base or applied more coats. I'm not sure. But I don't know if it's really worth the hassle, Anyway, I basically had a really hard time figuring out why it wouldn't glow after I applied it. BUT I did some research online and I found out that you have to basically let it "charge" in contact with a light source. Duh! How could I not know that. right?! I have seen glow in the dark stickers before! So what I did was I scooted over to my trusty lamp and placed my hands by the bulb for a minute and it worked! Yay! I'm so excited to show you the pictures. I was almost sure that this woulda been a complete fail.Anyway, hope you enjoy! -Kitty

OPI Chop-Sticking To My Story

Hi everyone. I have a swatch for you today. It's a orange colour and it kind of reminds me of a carrot. It's extremely pretty and I think it suits my skin tone really well. I did 3 coats in this picture with top coat. BTW, I always wear base coat. I got it as a gift today and I was so excited when I got it cause it was from a really good friend. Anyway, on the swatch! Enjoy. -Kitty

Nfu Oh 064

Hi everyone, a quick post today with Nfo Oh 064. It's a purple or pink prismatic/holographic polish. It has linear holographic effect and in this picture, I'm wearing 3 coats. I got it from http://www.fabuloustreet.com/ about a year ago.

I like to use this polish when I'm in a rush and I just really want to slap something on. The biggest advantage to these polishes is that it has the quickest drying time I've ever experienced. It must be something in the formula of holo polish specifically because it is like that with any Nfu Oh holo polish I own. But a downside is that it can chip after just a couple hours of wear and will lose it's holo effect with application of top coat. But that's fine. It's worth it to have something this pretty on my nails even if it's only for one day.

Kinda Boring Post

I'm doing a really simple manicure tonight but it's so pretty and inconspicuous. I used three coats of OPI Bubble Bath and one coat of CND Amethyst Sparkle. It's a little boring because OPI Bubble Bath is a flat out light pink, but I realised that so I added a little something something. And I think it turned out pretty good. Though I would much rather if I knew of a better way to thin out polishes. Cause the nail polish thinner either makes my nail polish bubble or it doesn't take away the goopiness. I think I may to research some more because I have a ton of polishes that needs to restored.

Anyway, thanks for reading or looking! -Kitty

China Glaze Jolly Holly

Hi everyone, I painted my nails with China Glaze Jolly Holly a couple days ago. It's a great color: green with a gold shimmer shot through it. It's one of the most opaque polish I own because I have used for konad stamping. The only thing is that it is somewhat similar to Essie Going Incognito though it's clearly not the same colour. Jolly Holly is much more darker and Going Incognito has no gold in it whatsoever.

On to the pictures!

China Glaze Whirled Away Swatch

Ugh, this polish was a pain. I had a horrible time trying to get all the little pieces to distribute evenly on the nail. But it's a unique polish nonetheless.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Gunmetal

Hello everyone!

I've got a swatch for you of Sally Hansen Gunmetal, a dear polish that has been with for more than 2 years. My memories of this polish were of it being extremely difficult to apply. I remember getting it from Wal-Mart or something. I took it home and painted my nails with it but back then I was a noob at painting my nails. So I got it all over my cuticles and I remember wearing it to class and being too ashamed to keep my hands above the table, constantly making sure it was out of people's sights. Hehe. Anyway I decided to whip it out since it's so neglected.

And here it is in all it's glory! I liked how metallic it is. It's really grungy and kinda reminds me of heavy metal music. But the only caveat I had with this polish is that it is quite streaky, which I combated by always painting the last stroke of each coat down the very middle. It came out fairly well I think.

 Hope you enjoyed looking!

Konad Stamping

I used Essence 14 for my base colour (2 coats), I added a coat of CND Amethyst Sparkle and topped with Top Coat. I waited a couple minutes and began stamping with Konad Plate # m65. This was fairly simple surprisingly cause I am not that good with stamping. I used Cheeky Monkey Man Eater for the stamping polish and added Top Coat and the manicure was done!

So this is what Konad Stamping leaves you with. Mess.

Thanks for looking!
